SIMPLE THINGS—experience the treasure of simplicity that surrounds you: Take a walk and listen to the leaves crunch beneath your feet—Relax in a rocker and soak in a view—Head to the beach and watch a sunset—Have coffee with friends in the backyard—Collect shells or rocks—Pack a picnic lunch and head to a park—Go to a plaza and take notice of peoples smiles—etc. Take some time to become aware of your surroundings to a greater degree. Look at textures and colors, and breathe in the fresh scent of flowers in bloom. There are so many blessings that God surrounds us with to consider.

DISCOVERIES—Have you put off (or never considered) certain aspects of your personality as something to discover? Maybe you have spent years attending to your family or career. You may have adapted to your environment or culture, taking the focus off your own identity. If you find yourself in a new season of life, now is the time to discover as a woman those things that have been hidden from plain sight.

INVESTMENTS—ideas and possibilities for your NEXT Investment: Write a letter of encouragement—Spend quality time with an individual in need—Prepare a meal—Put together a care package for a homeless person—Find out an interesting fact about a person you don’t know very well—Start a book club, etc.

TREAT YOURSELF—pampering yourself might be a foreign notion, but as you venture into this category on your NEXT Adventure, you might be pleasantly surprised by the results. Here are some fun treats to explore: Try a French pastry or Smoothie with a vitamin boost—Search for the perfect cupcake—Get a manicure or pedicure—Experiment with specialty fragrances—Splurge on a new outfit—Purchase a bouquet of flowers to take home for yourself—Float in a pool—Sit in a Jacuzzi—Soak your feet—etc.

HEALTH— Explore some healthy choices with your NEXT Community. Visit a Health Food Store—Get your blood pressure checked—Try Yoga—Exchange a healthy tip or recipe—Visit a pick-your-own fruit nursery—Do a walking lap inside a mall—Take a brisk walk at a park or a beach, etc.

TREASURES—What is incredibly unique about the NEXT season of life is the eternal and spiritual treasure we begin to value. Oh yes, it’s always been there, but now is when we start to truly see it for what it’s worth—and cherish it! As we go about the different events mentioned, let’s take time to pray that God would open our eyes to see the spiritual wealth that each moment represents. Not simply holding value here on earth, but in eternity where moths and rust can’t reach it. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
